Hālau Name
•        Hālau – is translated as “school.”  It literally means hā (the breath of life, or to breathe or spirit of the mouth) and lau
(leaf).  Together hālau means “an extension of the breath of life”.
•        Ha’a – means a sacred style of dance emphasizing humility, bended knee, in honor of our ancesters.
•        Kea – This is
Kumu Paul’s family name.  Each Hālau Ha'a o Kea is named for a family member.
•        Kinohi - Kinohi is Kumu Paul's son.  Kinohi means "a new beginning". Mr. Genesis Leeloi, was Kumu Paul's closest
friend bestowed the name Kinohi to him. The hālau is named in his honor.

Hālau Colors
•        Red is the color of the lehua blossom and the working chiefs of the land.
•        Black enhances the red and encompasses all colors, meaning the hālau welcomes all.
•        White is for the purity of our heart and intentions as we embark on this experience with one another.

Logo
The Golden Gate Bridge is connected by  lehua blossoms which symbolize the travel taken to bring the students together
from Hawai'i and San Francisco and across this region of California
.
